art!

{like a Picasso or a Garfunkel}

One of my New Year's resolutions is to take advantage of DC's many cultural opportunities, especially the fantastic and free Smithsonian museums.  So, a few weeks ago, while Bryan was battling a bad cold, Adelaide and I headed down to the Hirsshorn Museum, a modern art museum on the mall.

As you will see below, Addy is even cuter than usual when posed in front of modern art.  {Aunt Bridget -- who manages a modern art gallery in St. Louis -- should be so proud.}

One of our favorite exhibits was a light-box installation of amber crystals.

{Baby's first Warhol}

Addy loved this piece of art because it was, essentially, a larger wood version of one of her favorite toys.

 Thousands of plastic crabs.  On the floor.  As art.  Addy was intrigued.  {I was dubious.}

After our modern art tour, we spent some time running up and down the National Mall:

Back to Bloggin'

Hey all!  I know, I know, it's been radio silence over here.  Life got kinda crazy.  And then the holidays happened.  And then I took a nap.

But we hope that 2013 will bring more photos, videos, and stories of lil' g.  Thanks for sticking with us.

To start, here is a video of Adelaide dancing at the Wizards basketball game on Monday night.  She LOVED the Wizards game.  It was total sensory overload and Adelaide was beside her toddler self.  In other words, Adelaide became the Wizards' 6th fan.  (For those not in the sports know (like me) the Wizards have the worst record in the NBA, according to Bryan.  And their fan-base shows it.  There were approximately 27 people at the game.)

My New Hat

We spent the weekend in Milwaukee, visiting our new nephew and Adelaide's new cousin, Michael {as well as Mia, Will, Jennie and Joe}.  The cooler weather gave us an opportunity to test our her new hat.  Pretty cute, eh?

Adelaide v. Sock Monkey - 8 months

 This picture perfectly captures Adelaide' level of frenzied activity at this moment in her life:

It is unsurprising that the sock monkey has lost an eye.
